Perspective
It's amazin how much impact on your life one little word can have. Especially when that word is cancer.
The pathology report that came in last week for a close family member indicates cancer. Two months ago, another relative was diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer and given only months to live.
Needless to say, life around the Neale household has been different. I'm looking at things a lot differently now.
Life is not about how many breaths you take, but how many moments take your breath away. I've missed way too many opportunities to look for those breathtaking moments since the first of the year. No more.
Friends may come and friends may go, but family is always wiht you. I've taken my family for granted at times. No more.
Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today. I've missed out on many opportunities this way. No more.
I'm not getting caught up in the woulda-coulda-shoulda trap. I'm just making changes to the way I'm moving forward. I'm going to put greater value on the time spent with family and friends, because you never know how much time you've actually got with them.
Sometimes it takes a sentence to change your life. Even when that sentence is just one word.
